Privacy policy
We build software for real operations. That means treating the information entrusted to us as something to protect, not something to sell.
We do not sell client data. We use data to provide and protect the service. Product data is used to improve our products or outputs only when the relevant company has explicitly permitted that use.
1. Who we are
AhumLabs is an Indian private limited company that builds AI-native software and operational systems for organizations. In this policy, “AhumLabs”, “we”, “us”, and “our” mean AhumLabs Private Limited and the relevant AhumLabs service.
This policy explains how we handle personal data and customer information when you visit our website, use an AhumLabs product, contact us, or receive services from us.
2. Our commitment
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data or client data. We do not sell customer documents, operational records, prompts, outputs, or other business information to third parties.
We collect and use data for defined business purposes: to provide and secure our services, respond to requests, maintain and improve the products you use, meet legal obligations, and protect our users and systems.
3. Information we may handle
Depending on the service and your relationship with us, this may include contact details, account and organization details, authentication information, support communications, product usage information, device and log information, and payment or invoicing information.
A client may also choose to submit business information to an AhumLabs product, such as documents, operational records, competency frameworks, prompts, configuration data, or generated outputs. The client remains responsible for ensuring that it has a lawful basis and the necessary permissions to provide that information to us.
4. How we use client and product data
We use client and product data to provide the requested service, authenticate users, operate the product, provide support, prevent abuse, maintain security, troubleshoot failures, measure reliability, and comply with applicable law.
Product data may be used to improve our products, models, prompts, workflows, or outputs only when the relevant company has given explicit permission for that use. Without that explicit permission, client product data is used only to provide, secure, support, and operate the contracted service, unless another use is required by law or separately authorised by the client.
Where improvement permission is given, the agreed scope, data categories, retention period, and withdrawal process should be recorded in the applicable order form, product setting, or written agreement.
5. Sharing and service providers
We may share information with carefully selected service providers that help us host, secure, authenticate, monitor, communicate, process payments, or deliver the service. They may process information only for the agreed service and are expected to maintain appropriate confidentiality and security controls.
We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or a lawful request; to protect the rights, safety, and security of AhumLabs, our customers, or others; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or transfer of business assets. We do not permit third parties to use client data for their own advertising or sale of data.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information, including access controls, authentication, least-privilege practices, encryption or secure transport where appropriate, logging, backups, and monitoring.
No internet service can guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a material security incident affecting personal data, we will assess it and provide notices required by applicable law and our agreements.
7. Retention and deletion
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, the customer agreement, legitimate business needs, dispute resolution, security, accounting, or legal obligations.
Clients may request deletion or return of their data, subject to legal, security, backup, and contractual requirements. When a customer account or service ends, we will follow the deletion and retention terms agreed for that service.
8. Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to access, correct, update, or delete personal information relating to you, ask about how it is being used, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, or raise a grievance about our handling of data.
A client organization may also contact us about its data, processing instructions, authorized users, retention settings, or permission to use product data for improvement. We may need to verify identity and authority before completing a request.
9. Cookies and website analytics
Our website may use essential cookies or similar technologies required for security and basic operation. If we introduce optional analytics, marketing, or similar technologies, we will provide appropriate notice and choices where required.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, although disabling essential cookies may affect website functionality.
10. Children
Our services are intended for organizations and professional users. They are not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, please contact us so that we can review and remove it where appropriate.
11. Indian law and compliance
AhumLabs is committed to handling personal data responsibly and to complying with the laws applicable to our activities in India. This policy is written with reference to the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable Indian legal and regulatory requirements, as amended or brought into force from time to time.
The exact duties that apply can depend on the service, the parties’ roles, the data involved, the location of individuals, and the applicable notification or rules. This page is a general privacy notice, not legal advice and not a substitute for a customer-specific data-processing agreement or legal review.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services, practices, or legal obligations change. We will publish the updated version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Where a change is material and notice is required, we will provide notice through the relevant product or customer communication channel.
13. Contact and grievances
For privacy questions, data requests, security concerns, or grievances, please contact the AhumLabs team through the contact details provided in your customer agreement or through our website’s contact channel. Please include enough information for us to identify the relevant organization, product, and request without sending passwords or secrets.
